Clarification on the Nature of the Role
Applicants are to note that this call is for the professional role of Social Worker. The role is distinct from that of a Support Worker or Carer. Social Workers are responsible for social work assessment, care planning, case coordination, advocacy, crisis intervention, liaison with families and professionals, and participation in case conferences and reviews.
While Social Workers may work directly with service users and their families, the role does not primarily involve personal care duties or daily hands-on support tasks typically associated with Support Worker or Carer roles.
Objectives of the Role
Joining Aġenzija Sapport as a Social Worker offers the opportunity to be part of a national agency committed to enhancing the lives of persons with disabilities and their families through meaningful, person-centred support.
This role provides a rewarding professional environment where Social Workers are supported to grow, specialise, and make a tangible impact within the community. Employees benefit from continuous professional development, including opportunities for both local and international training, enabling them to expand their knowledge and remain at the forefront of practice within the disability sector.
The position offers varied and enriching experiences, including the opportunity to contribute to and lead group-based initiatives for children, adults, and families, as well as to engage with different services and departments across the Agency. This diversity allows for broader exposure, skill development, and a more holistic understanding of service provision.
Aġenzija Sapport fosters a collaborative and supportive working culture, where Social Workers form part of multidisciplinary teams, receive regular supervision, and are encouraged to take initiative and contribute to service development and innovation.
This role is ideal for professionals seeking not only to practise social work, but to develop their career within a dynamic organisation that values growth, learning, and the wellbeing of both its service users and its staff.
